We're so excited to welcome Ben Welbourn to the Winterline team. Ben joins us as an alum of a self-designed gap year, during which he hiked the Appalachian Trail from Maine to Georgia, worked in a variety of industries, taught English in rural Peru, and led outdoor education programs in New Hampshire and Maine. He then earned his degree in international relations from the College of Wooster in Ohio.Prior to joining Winterline, Ben served as the head of outreach in New England for Rustic Pathways and managed programs for them in the Dominican Republic. He is fluent in Spanish, and before joining the field of experiential education, taught at a primarily Dominican-American school outside of Boston.
When not talking with students about the benefits of global learning, Ben heads to the ocean or the mountains to hike, swim, ski, and camp as much as possible.
Ben will be working closely with our Admissions team to reach out to schools and other partners about our Gap Year Program. And stay tuned... we will soon have some exciting news to share about the new semester and summer programs we will be unveiling.
